Falling in Silence
Falling in Silence
I watch you from the sidelines, a moth to your glow,
Your voice cuts the stillness, a river’s soft flow.
My chest holds a tremor, a secret untold,
A warmth I can’t name, too fragile to hold.
The world spins around you, bright and alive,
While I hoard this ache where shadows thrive.
Your smile carves a canyon, deep in my mind,
A treasure I seek but never will find.
Each glance you don’t notice stitches my fate,
A thread of desire, a burden of weight.
I trace your silhouette against the dawn’s hue,
A painting of longing I’ll never show you.
The air hums with might-have-Beens, fragile and thin,
A song of your presence plays under my skin.
I walk past your laughter, footsteps discreet,
The rhythm of yearning pulses my beat.
You’re sunlight through branches, a fleeting caress,
And I’m just the shade, content to confess.
I’ll bury this fire beneath layers of stone,
A ember that flickers, but never full-grown.
Your life moves like seasons, vibrant and free,
While mine stays in winter, a locked reverie.
I’ll guard this sweet ruin, let roots intertwine,
A love kept in silence, forever just mine.
The stars know my secret, they gleam with my plea,
A cosmos of longing you’ll never see.
Each night I rewrite what cannot be said,
A story of you that lives in my head.
You’ll dance through your days, untethered, apart,
And I’ll fall in quiet alone with my heart.
