Catharsis

Beneath the skin a tempest brews
A restless force no soul can refuse
It coils tight a serpent’s grasp
A weight of years a muted gasp
The heart a vault of buried cries
Holds secrets veiled in shadowed skies
Each pulse a plea each breath a fight
A prisoner locked in endless night
The mind replays what hands can’t mend
A thread of grief that knows no end
Old wounds fester raw and deep
A vigil kept in sleepless sleep
The tongue grows heavy words unsaid
A chorus of ghosts a choir of dread
Yet still it builds this silent roar
A tide that crashes on the shore
Through trembling limbs the storm ascends
A force too vast to make amends
It claws its way from depths unknown
A primal wail a jagged tone
The dam gives way the flood unfurls
A torrent spins in chaotic swirls
Tears carve rivers fierce and wild
A cleansing born of inner child
The pen may bleed the voice may break
Each note a risk each line a stake
A canvas slashed with hues of pain
A dance of loss in pouring rain
The body bends the spirit sways
Unraveling knots of yesterdays
What once was stone now turns to dust
A shedding of chains a sacred trust
And then the hush the calm descends
A stillness where the chaos ends
The air grows soft the light seeps in
A balm for where the dark had been
The soul unburdened learns to soar
A phoenix rising from the floor
In every tear in every plea
Catharsis carves a path to free
No longer bound by what once was
The heart beats soft without a cause
A quiet blooms a tender grace
A mirror held to time’s own face
Through storm and ruin truth is won
A cycle ends a new begun
Catharsis reigns both fierce and kind
A gift of peace for restless mind
