The Solitude of Shadows
In the quiet corners of my room,
Where echoes of old laughter loom,
I sit alone with thoughts that roam,
In the vast expanse of my life, this home.
The walls, they whisper tales of old,
Of times when company was bold,
But now, in silence, they just fold,
To stories only I can hold.
The chair across, forever bare,
Awaits a guest who isn't there,
In this space, so vast, so rare,
Where loneliness is my sole heir.
I dance with shadows, dine with ghosts,
In this life, I am the host,
Embracing solitude, almost,
Yet, in my heart, it hurts the most.
For in this lonely life, you see,
The only company is me,
And though I've learned to let it be,
Sometimes I wish for company.

I feel your loneliness in this piece. I am with you. Your friends in the digital world is with you. I know it's different than having a companion beside you but these friends will help ease that loneliness
