The Maiden with the Beguiling Face

In a quaint village, by a tranquil lake, Lived a maiden with a beguiling face, Whose beauty could a thousand ships awake, And turn the sternest heart with grace.

Her eyes, like sapphires set in velvet night, Glimmered with secrets deep and wise, A gaze that could make the stars take flight, A look that could bring tears to one’s eyes.

Her hair, a cascade of raven’s wing, Flowed like a river, dark and free, Each strand did with the moonlight sing, Entwining hearts with its sweet decree.

Her lips, the hue of the rose at dawn, Curved in a smile, so soft, so rare, That to see it, one would feel drawn, To a love so pure, beyond compare.

Her voice, a melody of whispering winds, Told tales of sorrow, joy, and strife, A sound that the listener gently spins, Into dreams that span all ends of life.

Her hands, so delicate, like petals fair, Could soothe the wildest beast to rest, In her touch, there was a silent prayer, For peace, for love, above all, the best.

But her beguiling face, though beauty’s peak, Was just the mask of a soul so deep, Wherein lay kindness, humble and meek, A heart to cherish, to keep, and to weep.

For beauty fades, as all things must, But her spirit, like the stars above, Would forever in memories entrust, A legend of love, of hope, of dove.

So here’s to the maiden with a beguiling face, Whose legacy is not just in her grace, But in the hearts she touched, with gentle pace, In this life, and in the next, she'll find her place.
